Need to enroll in benefits outside of Open Enrollment due to Qualifying Event

Created by Marcillene Hagan-Witkowski, Modified on Wed, Mar 12 at 8:40 AM by Sonja Garcia

For all benefit-eligible employees that waived initial enrollments, you may still enroll in plans once per year. Our company's Open Enrollment period is March 1st-March 31st of each year, with a benefit effective date of April 1. You may make changes to current plans/enrollments or enroll in previously waived benefits during this window.

OTHER OPTIONS TO MAKE BENEFIT CHANGES

There is an exception throughout the year when you may make changes to your plans, outside of the Open Enrollment window. This is called a qualifying life event. If you are eligible for a qualifying life event, you only have 30 days from the date of the event, to make your QLE coverage changes.

Qualifying Events

  1. Birth of a Child
  2. Loss of other coverage
  3. Adoption
  4. Marriage
  5. Divorce
  6. Death

How To:

Initiating a Qualifying Life Event

  1. Login to your ADP Workforce Now Portal, and navigate to 'Benefits'
  2. Under the Benefits Homepage, you will see an option for 'Report a Life Event'

Please Note: If you are registering for a QLE after a Qualifying Event has occurred, it is possible you may already owe insurance premium arrears.
